Promotion and Dissemination of MUSAE Held in Uzbekistan

The Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education program "MUSAE: Interdisciplinary Skills for Entrepreneurship in the Field of Arts" organized an international round table on May 1-2, 2023, in Uzbekistan. The event aimed to enhance the capacity of local MUSAE teams in promoting and disseminating project results and activities, as well as to share the latest developments and tools in efficient information activities.
Welcoming speeches marked the opening of the round table. The rector of the National Institute of Fine Art and Design, Abbasjon Mirzorakhimov, emphasized the impact of globalization and integration on the fine arts of Uzbekistan. The Erasmus+ MUSAE project aims to support students and young artists in developing their entrepreneurial skills and managing their artistic interests effectively.
Aziza Abdurakhmanova, coordinator of the Erasmus+ National Office in Uzbekistan, highlighted the successful cooperation between Uzbekistani and European universities within the project. This collaboration has led to increased experience, the development of new educational programs, and the creation of unique laboratories that have enhanced international recognition and ranking of educational institutions.
Partners from NIFAD, SCU, and TTPU presented the prospects for the development of MUSAE in the region. They discussed new modules designed to train future artists in entrepreneurship and business skills, as well as the participation of students in international trainings. Oybek Kasimov organized a photo exhibition titled "MUSAE in the Motion" to illustrate the project's outcomes, attracting great interest among the attendees.
A significant part of the round table focused on employability in the cultural and creative sectors of Uzbekistan. Representatives from various institutions, including the Fine Arts Gallery of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent House of Photography, and Artmixmaster enterprise, engaged in discussions with major stakeholders and experts in cultural management and policies. The importance of entrepreneurial knowledge for artistic graduates was emphasized, and real-life experiences were shared by composer-arranger Igor Pinkhasov.
The event received extensive coverage from Uzbekistani mass media, including TV channel Dunyo bo’ylab and radio channel O’zbekiston.
In addition to the round table discussions, the participants enjoyed study visits to the faculties, studios, and cultural landmarks of NIFAD, as well as the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. The following day, the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan hosted presentations on the pilot modules taught in the three institutions. Students and teachers who participated in project weeks in Antwerp and L’Aquila shared their experiences and showcased their innovative concepts.
To conclude the event, the participants visited Tashkent Turin Polytechnic University, where an exhibition of works by students from various art institutions in Tashkent was organized.
The international round table on "Promotion and Dissemination of MUSAE" provided a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the development of entrepreneurial skills among artists and educators. The Erasmus+ MUSAE project continues to make a significant contribution to the advancement of arts and entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan.
